I recently bought Ohm: The Early Gurus of Electronic Music Special Edition 3CD + DVD. A great collection. There, I saw for the first time, Clara Rockmore performing at the theremin Shocked It's truly shocking. You have to see it to believe it. Perfect intonation Exclamation It's like magic. You can not appreciate the instrument only listening to it. Unbelievable, fantastic, I'm in awe Very Happy

I haven't seen Clara's playing, but for my money Kip Rosser and Kevin Kissinger are pretty damn good in their own right!

Yes, Kip and Kevin are two of the best. Clara Rockmore was fantastic too. The Theremin is more than a sound effects gizzmo, it's a very expressive instrument around the right hands.

You guys are forgetting Lydia Kavina, in my opinion she is second only to Clara Rockmore.

I've had this on my list on Netflix for quite some time, and was curious to find out how good (or not) it was. Glad to get an endorsement.
BTW If you are interested in seeing /hearing Clara play, there's a CD of her (mostly) music available from the Moog Music web page, as well as a VHS documentary which has some clips of her in it: Theremin An Electronic Odyssey
