I know that it might be a little premature but... has there been any discussion for 2nd Annual EM Conference?

We are going to work on this in the next couple of weeks. My guess is we will try for the same time and place with a similar format.

We want to move to Europe in 2007, but we'll have to see.

Europe would be great, I'd go everywhere. Would be nicer to have it in Europe in 06 and in the US again in 07.
Nicer for me at least Laughing

O5 was SO good at the Cheltenham Art Center that we'd like to go there again. We didn't quite fill it up this year, next year will probably be better attended and after that, 2007, we'll need a bigger place. That's part of the reasoning about repeating at the CAC. Also, it will be very much easier to organize the event.

You shouldn't spoil the pleasant memories, you see. This is why it needs to be in a different place, maybe even a different Continent - hm, what about Europe? Idea

I think we should try Cadaquez, spain! With some planning we can get cheap hotel rooms, the place is stunning and the we can all visit the house of salvador dali. Great bars too.

BTW: NL is fine too. from what I hear the bars aren´t completely incompatible with synthnerds.

Eh????! Cheltenham?? I suppose you are talking USA???

The 'real' Cheltenham is just down the road from here. Experimental electronic label 'Ochre' - http://www.ochre.co.uk/ - usually have there annual electronic music festival there (at the Cheltenham Town Hall).

My heart almost stopped for a minute then! So much better than bloody London (and all that pollution!)

bedtime for me now :zzzzz

At electro-music 2005 people didn't go to bars. We had everything available onsite. It's a class event. Cool

I would like to take another shot at it next year if you do it in Philadelphia. Thanks again for putting on a 1st class event and for allowing me to participate!

Just an enthusiastic newbie here,
(I can't stand that term and have no idea why I just called myself that)
but I just now cruised the EM05 thread (and site)
and I'm there no matter where EM06 will be !

The places suggested above are just fine !
Or even Angkor Wot or Machu Picchu.
(just a thought...carry on...)

That one is actually a possibility. Well, it would be great. I know there are astronomy tours that go to Lake Titicaca. That is pretty close to Machu Picchu. There is a resort there that isn't too expensive. Wouldn't that be some place for an electro-jam?

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

After a suggestion like that, you just denewbieized yourself. Cool

astronomy tours ?!?!
ok, now I'm begining to wonder if all of you
are just my schizophrenic alter-egos,
and that maybe I'm posting here pretending I'm many others.
(although a Steinway in my house would be pretty hard explain!)

To tell ya the truth, Europe sounds exciting too,
even talked it over with the Mrs. and we can cost-justify anything-Europe.
But seems to me, Philly was ok with me in '83.

I happened upon the EM05 website and am very excited to see what you put together. I definitely want to attend in 2006.

Having first hand experience in putting together a specialized convention (featuring performances, lectures and workshops) three years in a row, I know _exactly_ how much work it takes. It absolutely makes sense to stay at the original venue for at least two if not three years. Having a facility that works with you is like finding gold in the streets. I understand that building a local/national attendance and reputation for this event is priority one.

Of course it would be grand to go to Europe someday- wouldnt it be grand to go to Europe pretty much anytime?

Anyway, Im excited this event exists, and look forward to it with much anticipation.
