Mosc PMed me yesterday about it. It's nice to see it sputter to life.

I'm working on a list of members, and, yep, I'm still not sure how to add them!

Right now; if you can read this it means Scott successfully signed me up so he knows how it works.

Later; if you read this it likely means I can read you as well so I'm probably not one to gossip about on this sectionand it would be best to move that discussion to the "pyramids and robots" section, i think basically everybody but me and some people Stein distrusted has access there.

I see you Very Happy

Where's my brain? I added the two Tom's (Fenn and Bugs: v-un-v and Bugbrand). And what forum would be complete without Uncle Krunkus (Andrew Sharp)?

So I had a couple of questions:

1 - Which filter has the fattest/warmest/vintage sound?

2 - Why does every commercial synth built after 1985 suck?

3 - Why... Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I was on AH. Never mind.

Wink

How about this. Does E-M have a policy for identifying "problem" members? And if so, what is the policy for dealing with said member(s)?

No policy as such, and we have learned that what might be perceived as problematic is still also a case of perception.

We look out for fake personalities and the marketing trolls. We shoot those out of the water dreadnaught style. Olga from Volga or Buuub from Paris... looking for advice on how to do online videochats... kerplaff... Boom.. These are easy.

It must be said that there have been very few problem members and in most cases a few PMs will sort out the problems. Generally, people are nice.

Some will start acting really weird on bulletin boards. I think this is caused by not really understanding fully that there are real people on the board. A board is as close and personal as it gets, and at times even more humid and hot than the real thing.. only difference is that it is more public. Shocked

OK, so we have Randaleem here. He was only a real problem as long as "we" weren´t aware of what he was doing. There is possibly a problem coming up if he doesn´t deliver on the QFG PCBs.

How do we handle problem members? In most cases we have solved all problems peacefully.

The most important lesson is that we need to discuss issues and have ways to seek advice re whatever. This mod_helper thingie is great!

I dunno, perhaps I should move the Randaleem thread from the editor´s forum and place it here. I think it belongs here. In retrospect, if we had had this very mod helper forum running back then we would have catched him earlier and then he wouldn´t have been perceived as a major problem or a real problem at all.

The Randaleem thread is at times heated and obviously there is venting going on. Venting is good.
