Klee Thread Overload |
 |
|
Matthias and I were discussing via PM a couple of days ago about how the Klee threads are starting to become a bit more than one can keep track of.
There's the huge Super Klee Thread, the Klee PCB thread (which has turned into more of a panel design thread), the Klee BOM thread, and the Klee post at the top, which doesn't get much action. There's also THeff's "Dual Purpose" Klee thread which is sort of a separate entity.
First of all, I'm afraid some people who aren't all that into the Klee may get burned out on it pretty quickly (if they haven't so already), and for those who are into the Klee, it is hard to keep track of things.
But, I'm not sure how to address it - the Klee BOM thread is a sort of separate thing, the PCB is a separate thing. Maybe if we can keep it to those two threads and just let the initial SuperKlee slide off into oblivion by unstickying it? I'd planned to do that when I launched the projects index thread. That would keep it to two threads. I think I'd leave THeff's dual purpose Klee thread alone - that's kind of his baby.
Maybe I could rename the Klee PCB Thread the "Klee Build Thread", as us proto-testers thought it might be nice to provide some of our external communication on build details, and also when people start building, it'll give them a reference/thread to post questions, etc.
Any suggestions? _________________ My Site |

| Or alternatively you could unsticky them all and make a new sticky one with references to the other threads that you then lock so it wont get replies. |

Scott, its a tricky one - I think we all know that you'll always have a lot of reading and background research (mulling-over) when attempting such a big project. Saying that, at least the threads aren't 100 pages long - I've seen this on a few studio-rack-audio building sites - it is very hard to manage to read through such long threads!
When the PCBs roll out, I think its great if there's a downloadable pack which contains the most important info -- this will obviously be big for the klee! And, for those who want to dig deeper, there may be links to the more detailed/rambling discussions. I guess a pdf (or several), maybe linked from a BirthOfASynth page (many of which I've found so useful in the past - as you know!) would begin to cover this.
Both Bill sMs and Fonik's pcbs or kits have been really good for providing plenty of condensed and thorough background material, easily accessible (..I hope I've not forgotten anyone else who fits the above - I'm just looking over trying to remember modules I've built from pcb......) _________________ http://www.bugbrand.co.uk
