He sent me a PM pointing out his post.
I dunno if he PMed you or .. others.

Last time he pointed out some obvious faults ( re the S1 ) he felt compelled to remove his post.

Seems like Oskar is a bit tired of paying for defective products.

The formerly ubiquitous Synthbaron I recall started a thread here a while back about QA probs with Plan B. I recall the pictures were quite surprising - didn't look like a good job.

BTW, Synthbaron (Jay Denonville) used to be everywhere. I haven't heard a thng from the guy in a long time. Plan B hit team, perhaps? Laughing

Gentleman,
Quote:

I am not wishing to continue or to enter to your criticisms. Feel free to form any opinion you wish, or purchase any equipment you wish for any reason you wish.

I will however give the details on what Oscar been discussing were my actions:

Oscar complained about the rework on one of the six Model 10 EGs he received. I told him he can return any of the (12) modules I made for him through Elby Designs and I will issue a refund which can be passed to his customer (Oscar). He has elected to return all six Model 10's, which I will give Elby a refund for, even though his initial complaint was about only 1 of those six.
i would accept all 12 of the modules I delivered to him for Elby if he wished to. I have been attempting to take care of the situation.

My comment about not posting to public forums was in regard to taking excerpts from private email I was sending him and posting that information, like he has done on this list. This is a violation of my unalienable copyrights. That's what I asking asking him to stop. I confident you understand my position on this.

It is not my intention to spread ill-will or mis-information about Oscar Salas. It was only my intention to take care of a situation that he found to be unacceptable. This is why I am refunding for six modules, not just one and have accepted his cancellation for two more that had not yet shipped which my dealer has already paid for. I will say however that there are many other details with this issue that would explain the position I have taken. It is not my business to discuss this, nor my obligation to take it public.

I hope Oscar will consider taking the same tact I have in settling this matter.

best,

- Peter Grenader

Yes, read it, didn't know what to comment on it .. Pjotr makes a statement, but I'm not sure if it's such a good statement.

Well at least unhappy customer gets the money back ... I somehow doubt he would have reached that goal without going public.

OK, here goes:

I think Peter Grenader messed this one up further by his post here. Customer support does not seem to be his strongest side. Sad
He is making all the classic mistakes.

Remember that Soup Nazi sketch ( Seinfeld )?

I recently bought a Model 15 just for the waveshaping feature. Too bad that part of the oscillator was broken. I didn't feel like exchanging it for another one after seeing the build quality in general of the module. I really wish they sold kits:

The pic, I believe, got wiped out in the crash of ought 7. I remember it, though. Shocked

Well it would be polite for someone to thank him for his time. Oscar probably has an issue, I am not sure I blame him, but I am sure it could all have been handled differently. I didn't want to butt into the thread, but figured I would say something here first.

Hmm, well I guess I could do a simple "thank you Peter for the time & effort you put into this" ... but I wouldn't really mean it I'm afraid ... otoh I think it is good he reacted. Well what about "Thanks for telling us your side of the story" ?

I think that's fine, myself, it's more or less what I thought would be polite.
Peter is being defensive, as I would expect, and I wouldn't think we should be antagonistic. We're just the vessel here.

Sure, at this point I think we should be fairly neutral. If this is how Peter Grenader chooses to solve this, then that is his decision. I do think he could have solved this way smarter than he did. His post doesn´t read too convincing.

No, he sounds like he's been forced to do something he didn't want to do.
Which is why we should be neutral. Personally I think he's done the right thing, even if he's doing it with a grimace.

Sure, what he actually says he is going to do is just fine and the right thing. His attitude and how he goes about this isn´t good for business though. It doesn´t seem like he has any customer support strategy at all.

From what I´ve understood from what Oskar has told me ( we have exchanged some PMs ) Peter has mainly gone "ummph" and "groan" in all his earlier private messages. He hasn´t even pretended to be interested in solving what Oskar perceives as problematic.
Peter didn´t even respond to questions re how one particular module is supposed to work. Oskar is getting his money back, but he is not any wiser and Oskar really wanted these modules.

Well, I can understand that.

That said, the less said the better, since he's made his "peace"...

Too bad it's gone ... there seems to be a difference in how people judge build quality.

For me things to sit neatly on a PCB always has been an important issue, flux residue should not be present. Others seem to not care about those things at all, but to me it indicates lack of interest for the product. When on top of that 6 modules of the same type have very different behaviour the story is clear to me. Shitty built stuff.

Re. the repairs, I thought that by American law it was not allowed to sell repaired stuff as new? Well that's what I read anyway somewhere on this forum.

I don't like wires on product PCBs anyway, to me wires means prototype and not product, sleeping engineers. Well shit happens of course ... the Clavia G2 engines have some patch work as well - but it looks a lot better than the sound pics.

Guess I'm old fashioned Very Happy

Reminds me, my uncle, who was a plumper once, made a habit out of having every screw head of as set pointing into the same direction - but that's over 40 years ago.
