Nord Lead 2x modify sound 783 |
 |
|
I'd like to change this sound in 2 ways.
1) cut the tone that comes in at the end (I want explode-y take-off noise only)
2) Make it attack faster. There is a little pick-up sound when I press the key, then the real take-off starts. I'd like to eliminate the little take-off.
For part 1, I thought some combo of attack/delay/sustain would do the trick, but it doesn't seem to. |

Could you send the Program as a single SysEx file?

NordGenerator can handle *.syx, *.ngf and *.mid.

| Thank you, I will do that in the future. In fact it's probably something I've done before and forgotten. Anyway I trust you got the file from the zip for now? |

| I just added ngf to the allowed file extensions, so in the future you can just use *.ngf files as well. |

For part 1, I thought some combo of attack/delay/sustain would do the trick, but it doesn't seem to. | There are two rather obscure going on... FM modulation, made by the ModEnv and Sync. This asking for troubles, mister!
Osc2 is FM-ing Osc1 by the values given by the ModEnv. So, Osc1 isn't that stable in sound...
Osc2 is synched to Osc1, so when Osc1 changes...
Anyway, I think much is done by reducing the ModEnv. This Env shoots down at once and returns slowly to above... Then adjust the sound by the AmpEnvDecay.
The useful range of the effect isn't that large, due to the FM-Sync combination. Lower sound produce the strange rumble at the start of the sound.
I made a useful range from G3-C6, if you use the Wheel (Morph) in the range G3-G4 (open).
What do you think about the attached program?

nice, thank you for the advice, and thanks a lot for making and posting that sound!
I liked the sort of... i don't know, gunshot noise at the beginning but you were right by messing with the "mod env - amount" i can affect the timing of the attack, which is exactly what I was looking for.
the decay -- i got the tone quieter but not quite perfect but anyway, much improved and useable.
***thank you!!!*** |
