Hi guys!

I have this problem: I have a Waldorf MicroQ rack which has 16 parts; I want to play some parts(sounds) using the keyboard of my beloved NordLead and the rest to be played be a sequencer.

So, I set it up as follows: midi out of the sequencer to midi in of nordlead, midi out of the nordlead to midi in of the waldorf rack.

Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. Can't nordlead use the midi out as a midi thru(merge)?

Thank you all!

Indeed, the NL2 has no Midi Through, which isn't a merger, BTW
You'll need a merger, for sure, if you want your set-up to look like 'some sounds to be controlled by the NL-Keyboard and some other sounds by the sequencer'.
Even if the NL had a Midi Through it would send the MidiNotes info using the MidiOut, not using the Through, so a merger is needed.

The Novation X Station is a Midi Controller with a synth build in.
Read the Manual carefully:

As far as I know it has the capability to merge Midi signals, but please don't nail me down to it Smile At least the Manual shows us it can...
Manual Novation X Station [Page 12 - Midi Out] wrote:
These can transmit any MIDI information which might be generated by the X-Station. For example, if a note was played on the X-Station keyboard or one of the controls were moved on the front panel. This MIDI information is intelligently merged with any MIDI being re-transmitted after arriving at the MIDI IN / USB ports.
I never worked with an X Station, so I don't take any responsibilities if it doesn't merge... Smile
