paia gnome repairs Subject description: what's WRONG with this thing? |

Yeah, I got this gnome on ebay 'untested' so natch it doesn't work just right. I can get some nice tones and stuff out of the oscillators, but it's limited in terms of what you can do without using the 'wand' device. I checked the wire and it appears to be braided, sturdy so to speak, intact.
can the electrical-tape sort-of material go bad somehow (moisture, heat, etc?)? Any input would be great. I suppose I could write to the folks at paia but they may not be too concerned about my broken down little gnome, warts and all that elfin shit. But luckily, you, reader, yes you, do care. thanks all. |

Emailing or calling paia might have already yielded some help.
They were quite helpful when I had a problem with their vocoder.
I would be surprised if they didn't give you some kind of advice. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

Hey, I built a Gnome from a kit back in the 70's. I don't have it anymore, but I still have the user manual. It states that the strip may form an insulating film on the surface and that it should be cleaned with lighter fluid( ) or iso-propyl alcohol.
Hope this helps! _________________ varice |
