Grouping Patches |
 |
|
Hello,
First, just want to say that although this is my first post to the forum, i've been reading it for weeks, and I've found it to be really useful when using my rack 2x. So thanks very much for such a great place to discuss our wonderful Nords!
My only gripe with the 2x is that the patches seem to be in quite a random order, and I quite often have to sit holding the manual to navigate the patches. Just wondered if anyone has ever re-organised their patches so that the basses, pads, leads etc are all grouped together, so I could just flick through them instead of using the book? Would anyone be able to suggest an easy way to do this?
Thankyou! |

At http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/024_Cat_Sven_Saur/ you'll find the Categories Archive made by Sven Saur. Most of the NordLead2X Programs are there.
You can load the files into your synth, play these and save where you want those to be saved.
I will ask Clavia again to create a library tool, specially when the NR2X will be used together with the new Electro 3, a winning team in my point of view...

You have a SysEx tool on the computer?

| Yes, I downloaded Nordgen and Midiox a couple of weeks back, and using the latter I was able to restore my factory settings by using the sysex data on the disc supplied with the 2x. I'm guessing these will be the same tools I need to transfer these new patches to the 2x? (I am a bit new at this but I'm learning fast!) |

Wout, I just wanted to say thanks for your help - I finally got around to doing this yesterday (after spending a year battling the random factory patch orders). Now my Arps, Basses, Pads and Leads are nicely grouped together to make it easier to navigate and find the sound I want.
Nordgen took a bit of figuring out, but once I had it was easy.
Sometimes I envy the folks with only a few dozen patches, there's too much choice on the 2X, and some of the patches are virtually the same! |
