After about a year and a half patching and learning with my Nord G2X, i realy got the feel for modular synth's and now I'm considering buying a real one...

But how to start ?
I was thinking about a Doepfer basic system 2 ?
Or would this be to much to start with and better buy there mini-system and see where I go from here ?
Or perhaps there are alternatives ?

I know, a lot of question, but since all those modules are pretty expensive, I don't want to make any mistakes ?

So, your experience is very welcome

k

There's no right answer to that question and it's a question that keeps coming up. You might look in the General Discussion forum.

My own advice (which I didn't follow) is to try and spend some time checking out other people's systems before buying. That may not be practical depending on where you are. Different people choose different gear and often for very different reasons. As with getting started in sculpture there are many directions you might go.
