[Moderator] Split from http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-32287.html [/Moderator]

I saw their price on e-bay and bought it a few days ago. The Wave arrived today and won't get past the first boot screen.

No sound, no pretty lights.

I haven't yet figured out if this has anything to do with the low price and I haven't heard back from them yet.

But I thought I'd post a warning, just in case this isn't a flook.

Anyways, if anyone knows of a way to get me past the first boot screen (where it says Nord Wave HwRev 1.0-20), I'd love to hear it. I tried updating the OS on both mac and PC but neither sees the nord via USB. Maybe I'm just doing something dumb.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks
DC

I just received my Wave the other day at the super low price and everything is working just fine. Sorry to hear yours was DOA.

Open up the synth (see: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-29716.html) and try all the connectors. They may have come loose during transport...

could an undone cable really halt the boot process like that?

i'd open it up but i don't want to risk further damage or void any warranty

Strange, if I boot with a MIDI IN cable plugged in it gets past the first OS screen and but leaves me with a "Flash Error" message.

Anyone ever get/fix this?

Thanks

Well, if you're in NY, then at least it should be easy to get another one, or at least decent warranty coverage. I find the Nord stuff really well built, so that's certainly unusual.

I got the last Wave from the sale. On ebay it said there was one left, and I bought it.

I recieved mine and it was brand new. Plastic on the LCD screens and all. Mine works perfectly fine and I love it.

Just wanted to let you know that the low price doesn't mean the ones they sold are defective.

It's really shitty that yours is DOA. If I was you, I would send it back ASAP and request an overnight of the replacement if possible. I'm sure it's just a fluke and would have happened even if you would have bought it at the normal price. The longer you wait to send it back, the longer it will be till you have a working keyboard.

Good luck.

Like derekmecca said, bring it back and ask a new motherboard.
I had a problem in the past with the Nord Lead 2 x.
They repaired it two times, after that when it still didn't work I got
a new motherboard and the problem was over.
