....allow me to do the following:

Allow me to split the keyboard, and have independent volume control over the upper and lower split?

I ask because I play in a band and play leads/chords with my right hand and bass with my left.

If answer is "no" to above question, how might I get it done some other way?

I restrict the answer to those instruments available at the moment capable of doing this, which are the NordLead2X and the Stage. I tell you about the first and if you post also in the NordStage forum Seraph will surely enlighten you there too.

The NordLead2X is able to splitt the keyboard on any key. Using t he Morph function both Slots (Sounds) which can be played in one part of the keyboard can be controlled by the Wheel or by a pedal. In this way the lead/chord part can be set harder or lower to the bass part. Also the main volume knob can be used to change the overall volume, if needed.
And there is still velocity Smile

Very Happy

The keyboard can be split into three Keyboard Zones to which any instrument section can be freely assigned.
...
A Program in Nord Stage basically contains all settings (instruments and effects etc.) when the Program was saved. A Program can consist of a single instrument or a combination of up to six instruments and two Extern sections, which can be assigned to one ore more Keyboard Zones for split and layered sounds.

so, the answer for the NS is yes
off duty mode

Wout,
you are welcome but it's only a matter of downloading and READ the manual.

Wout and Seraph.

So, according to your answers, I could set and keep the bass volume at a steady level, while raising/lowering righthand (chord/solos) volume level with a pedal, yes?

Wout, your answer read "can be set harder or lower to the bass part". I presume you meant "higher", not "harder"?

Also, what means "Wheel"? I am a Roland guy.....

Oh, well, that's a word in a language called "Dunglish" (Dutch and English) Very Happy

Modulation Wheel.
The bass part can be set to Velocity, of course, so you can play accents.
