Nord Rack 2X Problem - Help Please |
 |
|
I just bought a Nord Lead 2x rackmount a few weeks ago and all was fine until yesterday.
When I select a sound, for example sound 1. 5, when I start to manipulate the sound, the Nord automatically switches back to sound 1. 1.
It doesn't matter which sound I choose, each time I manipulate it, it always changes back to the very first sound of that particular section.
Has anyone else experienced this? |

Unplug the Midi Cables and try again.
Maybe it's a Midi loop.

No, no, no...
You won't get away that easy!
What could have caused the MidiLoop?
Connect the Midi cables again, press [Shift+2x MidiCh] and you are in Global Midi mode. Set the Global Midi to channel 16.
I wonder if the troubles still happen...

The Rack can be controlled by a Midi controller or a Midi sequencer, mostly a software version on the computer like CuBase. A Midi controller mostly doesn’t receive Midi but only sends it.
The software sequencer receives Midi, of course, and has to send it back (echo) to the synth module. The first option would be to press [Shift+Local] and scroll using the up&down arrows to [off]. To change the knobs the computer has to be running the software…
It could solve the problem, but I’m afraid it doesn’t…
The next option is to change the Midi Trough or send Midi settings in the software. The could be a Midi Filter too, like CuBase which forces you to think ‘negative’ which means enable the Midi Through means it isn’t coming out anymore… (This is a feature created to drive musicians crazy )
Because I can’t see your set up from here you have to try these things yourself. If any success please let us know.
There is an translation of the knob data to ProgramChange data somewhere on the line…
To chear you up…
When all fails, sell the synth and buy real instrument like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFgqDSBba1g
Ship and sun cap are included…
