Problem with Nord Wave Subject description: Having an issue loading sounds into wave |
 |
|
I recently downloaded the newest operating system and deleted the factory sounds in order to load my own. However, whenever I try to load sounds through the wave manager, nothing shows up on my wave LCD, even though the manager says that I have loaded sounds. All the LCD says is 2:1. Any ideas? Thanks

Not using a Wave myself I waited to answer to give Wave users the oppotunity to answer.
My question to you is: "What should the LCD screen read?"

| It should have the patch name that I've loaded, and be able to scroll through sounds. |

Dave, I am not sure I fully understand your problem. Here's what I do know...
On the wave you can not scroll through empty patch locations that have not been filled.
If there are no patches in a bank it is not selectable when the wave is sorting patches by banks. Try playing with the sort modes (shift + chord-mode) and see if that works.
Strangely, if there is one patch in bank it is still not selectable. You have to save at least 2 patches to that bank and then it can be selected.
It sounds like 2:1 is the default location when there are no sounds loaded.
Try saving your sounds to bank 2. |

| Thanks for the responses. I've tried different sorting modes and can't find the sounds. Basically I load the sound manager and download files from my sample library into the nord. While the manager and the wave say that the file transfer is complete and successful, i can't find the sounds in my wave and it just says "empty program." The only time that I am able to load programs into the wave is when I select and load in program files (.nwp) All other file extensions don't seem to work (I've tried .nsmp and .nwi). Is there something that I am stupidly overlooking? Thanks |

Ohhhh I see....
You're trying to load samples directly to the Nordwave Program Manager?
If so you must first use the Nord Sample Editor, load your samples into there and create a sample set.
The sample editor is where you decide which keys the samples will be assigned to, volume curves, x-loops, etc.
Your sample set will not be in the program locations but in the sample memory in OSC 2.
hope this helps,
Norm~ |

| I thought I would post my question here since the topic of the thread fits, instead of starting a new one. I'm having issues w/ my Nord Wave randomly readjusting its pitches. It for some reason wants to jump up or down octaves without me changing any settings at all. Quite the problem for performing... anyone else having this problem? |

Need more info. Is this happening for just one program or for all programs that you select ? Do you have voices in both slots and possibly morphing to a voice that has frequency modulated/enveloped ? You don't have a MIDI loop going on such as "Wave into computer out back into Wave" ? In the windows for LFO 1 & LFO 2 turn the "Amount" all the way down and make sure you are not in a morph mode. You could have a random LFO waveform set to modulate an oscillator's frequency. |
