hi all,
if anyone knows...this..
4 slots abcd....
all set to midi channel 1...
sequenced from cubase.....1 midi channel..
so i should have 4 indipendant layers right? 4 voices being played by the 1 midi channel..?
BUT BUT BUT....'
when i select one slot..(led flashes) and make adjustments to controlls...cuttoff, fm ect...
it affects all slots...
and if i change a program on 1 slot,....the other slots change program too....
this seems to be the same deal in performance mode..
i read the manual, am i doing something wrong?
if you could tell me what im doing wrong you will save me a few unecesary midi channels in my daw screen..
cheers!!!!! |

Your active Slot sends Midi Out using its own Midi channel, which is Ch 1, and is, as you wrote, the same channel the three others Slots are using! Nothing strange here… | Quote: | | and if i change a program on 1 slot,....the other slots change program too... | Which is the same as above! | Quote: | | this seems to be the same deal in performance mode.. | Of course, why shouldn’t it be? In your settings | Quote: | | i read the manual, … | Yes, but not everything! | Quote: | | … am i doing something wrong? | Not reading the Manual completely! | Quote: | | if you could tell me what im doing wrong you will save me a few unecesary midi channels in my daw screen… | You have to stop sending Midi Out by the channel you made active. This can be done on the synth itself, but you can’t record this anymore in CuBase. If you want to record it, you have to disable Midi Through in CuBase.
Let us take a look at [Manual page 66 – Prog/Ctrl] which shows how to handle setting it on the synth. To tell the truth I don’t owe a Rack and a Lead (keyboard version) doesn’t have this Slot/ Channel/Midi problem, so I never used it myself…
Pressing [Shift+2XProg.Ctrl]You can set the Knobs to [OF] using the up&down arrows. Now the Knobs don’t send Midi Out data, but they change the sound of the active Slot. You can’t record this in Midi in CuBase. Audio is always possible. I hope you understand the consequences!
You can do the same to the Program Change [P] by pressin 1X Prog.Ctrl.
You can also use four tracks in CuBase, one to every single Slot, each with its own Midi channel, right? This is less complicated.
