A new show!
Probably tho there is some misunderstanding going on ..
Port 8126 is a private port, and as such it allows for four listeners only ... the setup that we use for the radio is that people do send on a private port which is then relayed over the main port (8050) to be listened to (with up to 128 listeners).
Also there seems to be a timing conflict ... I read your show time to be GMT 2300, which is the time that Les Hall starts his Thursday shows and I wouldn't want to schedule two shows at the same time to not dilute the listener count too much. _________________ Jan

uh oh... |

The show is from 7-9 EDT (-4 GMT).
Below is the first part of the email I received from Shane on 5-20-10.
I'd like to get this straightened out ASAP since I've been doing a lot of invites and advertising on the web site.
If it's not going to happen I want to be able to give listeners and the musicians enough notice.
Thanks
Charles

Ok charles
here is your new port / pw for streaming at em
port: 8126
password: ----
Before you connect, please read this and make sure you have your info configured correctly (you must stream at 128k or it will sink the server)
The first post by Jan explains the requirements very well. Instead of the public port .. you will have your own port, 8126. Of course probably goes without saying, but use the chatroom to coordinate things.

solution to the show conflict and port issue |
|
|
Here's a possible solution.
We can go ahead and do the live version of the show on thurs. 7-9 EDT (-4 GMT) and broadcast from my local server. Then rebroadcast the recorded version on electro-music.com at a time when there isn't a conflict. I'd prefer to air the show on electro-music.com during an "EU friendly" time anyway. Certainly don't want to conflict with Les's show.
Anyway,
No worries.
Let me know if this works.
Thanks
Charles

We settled on 00:00 - 02:00 GMT, technically it would be a Friday then, but for EU and US folks it would be a Thursday
Anyway, so just one hour later and just after the Les Hall show.
Looking forward to tomorrow, break a leg Charles _________________ Jan
