Nordlead 1 hanging keys Subject description: keys E1 - A1 are hanging |
 |
|
Hi all
I hope someone can help me here.
I have a very strange problem with my Nordlead.
Some day the keys E1 - A1 stopped working...
Over Midi, all is ok. If i press one of these keys, the sound is hanging and i have press the panic option to stop the hanging voice. After this the keys are all deactivated. If i power-off and on the keys are back with the same issue.
All other keys are working with any issue...
I already resoldered all and replaced the 2 MC74HC374AN ICs for the Keyboard on the Mainboard. Still same issue... No answer or help from Clavia...
I have OS2.6
Thanks |

first impression is loose wire or corrosion or failing component in keyboard which causes the notes in that group to trigger a note on event, but don't send the note off event when released. even when panic function the synth thinks the notes are still pressed thus not able to sound again until reboot. how do the other keys act after using panic function? _________________ loving music sometimes is impossible |

all other keys are acting normal...
i already swapped the 2 red connectors from the keyboard... then i have the same problem with the upper keys. So i dont think its a failure from the keyboard. |

I read your post yesterday late...
First of all: how have you contacted Clavia? When using the support option you are connected to the distributor, who probably is wondering what a NordLead 1 is, because he doesn't sell it When using feedback you are connected to Stockholm. No answer there could mean radio silence due to the Frankfurter Messe...
At the other hand I think you are doing a lot already. Are you using a service manual or are you a service centre? If not, wouldn’t it be better to go to a service centre? Clavia will never give any information when not authorized personnel is opening a product: when going wrong they will be to blame… When they do so they surely believe in you.
Take the synth to a nearby service centre will be my advice.

Thank you
Ok i dont realized the difference between Nordlead and Nordlead 1
No i dont used any Service Manual or something. I repair many synths, especially the old analog ones in my free time. So i try it first by myself because i dont got a answer via the Technical Support form.
I will try to use the the Feedback feedback form first, then i contact our local distributor. Our distributors most have not a very deep knowledge, and send the part anyway to the Manufacturer.
thanks again for help |

Maybe Clavia could help you out by sending you a Service Manual or something, but there are very strict conditions to it, so I think there is little to expect here.

i found the problem now...
Its a crack on the mainboard, anywhere around the left IC next to the red keyboard connectors. No chance to fix that sad... its anyway a bad construction to mount the board with separate screw-holders on all edges.
Like that all beats or vibrations are transfered to the board.... |
