Subject description: 40106 burned after coneccting to ac/dc adaptor

Hi , i`m building some 40106 oscilators and i soldered an ac/dc conector directly to the board and ended up burning it. Could you give me some advice , i want to remove the 9v battery powe supply and power it up from the adaptor , do i have to build a power supply or something like that , would apreciate some help.ç

A 7809 voltage regulator and a few capacitors is all it takes - search MFOS wall wart power supply.

the board, the connector or the chip ?
If you burned the chip than make sure you use a DC adapter, the polarity is correct and the voltage isn't too high (< 18V).
A voltage regulator might not be needed depending on the adapter you use.
