Hi, Electroluddite, welcome on board!
Congratulations on your new CD and site, I hope that you understand that while we welcome anouncements of member's projects and have nothing against you trying to make a buck we do object to advertising the same thing in multiple posts. Therefore I'll remover your other thread. This is in the interst of keeping the board readable and a nice place to discuss matters for everybody, after all; if the forum were to get the feel of a advertising space we'd lose readers amongst which might also be people interested in your recordings!
Once again; welcome and I hope you understand.

Yes, that sounds entirely reasonable to me if you prefer it. _________________ Kassen |

After all the moving I thought I'd check out your site while I was at it; very nicely written. You place quite a bit of switching to Mac from Windows but none at all on the software used aside from noting that you like a minimal setup. Is this intentional? _________________ Kassen |

Kassen, I am not really sure - maybe subconscious. After 15 years of windows and glitches and blue screens of death, and dll errors and driver issues - the Mac experience has just been plain sweet in osX.
the Apps. - I use and do my sound design. some I like more than others - they are tools --the primary element to me is the creational dynamic re: sound designs and the actual music and compositions. so maybe the end result of the music is the most important. Many top guys throughout the world have commented ' you immediately create stuff with whatever you have; others have every piece of hardware and software and maybe they spend all of their time learning it and maybe knowing more than you do but you are into the creation of music while they are worrying about the newset and best stuff out there and they do minimal in the creational vein. So your immediacy is a plus!'
any comments on the music? I hate to askk but have to.
p.s. the minimal setup is intentional! It is the Luddite in me! ))) |

Ah, I see. For a moment I thought you might have been using a lot of system tools or something like that. Some people like to use data files as audio and create music from that so I was wondering about the relevance.
I did grab one random file and thought it was quite good but it was also very ambient and I wasn't in the mood for droning ambient so I resolved to come back later. _________________ Kassen |

Kassen - I created most of the sounds on the last 5 CD's I did!
I also advise you to check out the stuff if you could - There is a wide variety of music there - not all drone and not all ambient as such....you'd be surprised what you will hear from the variety of samples! Thanks again for all of your help - and yes I really was interested in your thoughts by the way re: the music.
best wishes - EZ
p.s. matter of fcat - most of the CD's are pretty much done all one take tracks - believe it or not! |
