Here's a problem I've run into a couple of times now, and it's starting to annoy me. There are several workarounds, but it still drives me crazy why I can't figure out why it behaves like this.

Look at the attached patch. Notice how the bottom middle sequencer triggers one beat too late, so that it falls out of sync with the left one. There seems to be some kind of stupid delay somewhere.

I want to use this technique to trigger different sequencers from master sequencers at different times, but I can't get it to work. It works using a bincounter (as I show in the attachment), but that doesn't always suit my purposes.

/Stefan

It seems to me that the reset for the out of phase sequencer is the problem, it is derived from the top sequencer and so it's 4 clock cycles (1 control rate cycle) behind the clock. You could delay the clock a bit I guess for the middle / bottom sequencer?

That's a good tip - thanks. Smile I can notice a slight delay in my example, but for what's intended (slower envelopes)I think it will work. The best thing would be some kind of negative delay that can predict the future before the reset input, but I guess that's a bit too much to ask for.

A bit less than 100 us should be sufficient delay, you can hear that Shocked

Oh - I used the logic delay, and that only goes down to 1.04 ms. The audio delay at 0.01 ms works with no discernible delay but it's more expensive. Problem solved anyway.

Set the range to "sub" and it will go down to 100 us.

doh

Thanks. I actually scrolled through the settings, but I somehow missed the sub setting... or what it meant anyway. I should go to sleep and start again when I feel my mind is working properly again. sleeping
