Hey,

maybe you guys find this interesting. I found an nice way to have some attack and release effect for the 40106 and other squarewave oscillators.

If you push the button the signal fade in and fade out slowly, you can vary the time with the pot. The switch is optional, in one position the signal is more distorted. I think it is crucial to have an exact 1uf cap after the input, i tried other caps but this was not working so well. I used a 1n4148 diode, but I think 1n914 or 1n4001 will work as well.

You can play a little bit with the values, when the button is not closed there is still some very low signal of the oscillators in the output, maybe with some more filters and things you get rid of it.

Have fun

Maybe I will post a sample clip in a few days...

PS: It behaves like a reverb if you dont shift the frequency of the oscs after pushing the button, this is very nice.

Here is the sketchy sample, with two 40106 oscs!

just a suggestion for further modding: if you replaced the physical switching element with a 4066 you could theroretically allow for control voltage of the A/R by another 40106 oscillator.

bam!

I tried it and it works very well. But I don't really like the 4066, I will try it with a transistor or something later...
