Subject description: Double Planetoid - AI set intended for New Year's Eve
Here is my set that I played today, 8 days late. May do a substantially different, more electronic variation of this piece for March Solstice. I knocked this out a couple hours ago, straight-through (no editing), although I did capture the backing sounds a few weeks leading up to New Year's Eve.
Main axe is Bart Reiter Professional open-back 5-string banjo with a Bacon tone ring & internal wooden resonator. Pre-captured sounds manipulated at performance time include echoed harmonics off my Godin xtsa electric-MIDI guitar (those are my click tracks), wet finger around a wine glass, conch shell, Tibetan bell (a nod to John Coltrane's Interstellar Space album, which I was listening to in late December), various fx in Ableton Live, a MIDI track captured from the Godin used to drive an Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) Chromophone percussion track (mallets -> soft marimba), and some ebow on the banjo.
There's more where this came from, if I am not buried in work at the time of March Solstice. Sorry for being late, but, better late than never. Been listening to tracks on this thread while prepping spring course material; they are great!
Thanks to everyone!

Thanks, Jan! I will definitely try for the next quarterly electro-music webcast. Starting a data analytics program promises to grow enrollments, but it sure eats my time.
I really need to do something in the planetarium again, too. I am hoping to include a networked ZIM improv set using Ninjam or similar. I have a sabbatical leave coming in spring 2019, so maybe then.
Take care, and have a great 2018. _________________ When the stream is deep
