I suggest you return to the shop and tell the guy he doesn't work. You showed him your fuse?

BTW did you changed the setting of the internal switch?

Smile Yeah, the guy sounded like he just wanted to get me out of his shop (fuses are worth peanuts...)

I did change the internal switch, but still nothing - no lights, zippo...

I wonder where I can get the correct fuse from - all websites I've seen are difficult to find the right thing... Rolling Eyes

A music instruments shop?
Most synths work with these kind of fuses, otherwise a real radio repair shop...

I know that the old fuse has the wrong value, but it will get you going for the weekend.

The fuse will not blow when the synth is ok, and the synth will not blow either, it's just that that in the highly unlikely case that something goes wrong with the synth while the old fuse is in the synth will not be fully protected and some extra damage might be done to it. I'd take that risk, but not for too long Wink

OK, I tried the old one, but still not working - no lights. It must be that the keyboard is broken. The guy I bought it off on eBay said he'd give a full refund... damn I really wanted to have a Lead 2X Crying or Very sad

Thanks for your help Wout and Blue Hell - you guys are cool Wink

First things first!
You opened the synth already to change the switch?
Open it again and try all the flat cable connectors by opening and closing again. Could be one came loose during transport.

Thanks Wout, I've done as you suggested - opened her back up and opened and closed all the flat cables. Still nothing. I also tested the power cable on another appliance and the cable is working fine....

Check also the white power connector right beneath the power switch.

What I think is strange...
All my Nord/Clavia fuse adapters have a little holder in the screw in which the fuse fits when inserting into the synth. There's a spring too. Take a look at my photographs in the sticky thread. Your screw only shows the two 'hooks' which are used to lock the fuse compartment... I think you are missing a part... Could be lying around somewhere?

Wout

Ehh... 'white power' isn't political meant, of course Wink

Wout, I've looked at your fuse more carefully and noticed that there definitely is a small holder inside the main holder which holds the fuse... and your fuse appears to be the same size as the new small fuse that I bought from the shop yesterday!

I haven't seen this small holder because it was never there. The original (American) fuse is big enough to not need one of these small holders, which is why I think it wasn't included. So what I think I may need is one of these smaller holders... I'll have to check with some music instrument shops on Monday.

All right!
We know something more about the fuses... Different sizes which seems to need different holders...
I'll contact Jason of Armadillo about this tonight.

Wout, I've been in touch with the UK distributors of Clavia and they're sending me a UK/Euro fuse holder, so this should hopefully sort out my keyboard...

I'm holding thumbs that this will work and will let you know if it does.

Hey Wout, Blue Hell & Keyboard Cowboy.

Just wanted you dude's to know that I'm up n running and tracking & tweaking knobs as I write. Well, not as I write but you get what I mean Wink

You dude's have been so rad in helping me out with this high tech stuff and I can't thank you dude's enough! So rad!

I went to all the capable shops/stores around this hole and finally found a store that had the right fuse. But..........it cost me $15 USD for a pack of 5 f***n fuses Shocked All in all, it only cost me a total of $22 USD instead of $50USD for a transformer and adaptor. Again thank you so much!

Ps. Just to be cheeky Laughing any of you guys willing to help out with pro tools?

I don't publish very much music on the net, but the archives have some Nordlead Programs of my signiture at http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/ and search for 021Patches>Blommers_Wout. There are about 500 Programs there, some nice and some not that nice Wink
