Is that yet another viral stunt? I haven´t checked it yet.
Thing is that the basic premise behind these viral methods is that lying is a good thing. The artists themselves rarely have anything to do with this, but as we figured out with the Creative Vultures incident, the client list was actually available online on some insecure servers and it seems that we can expect pretty much all major acts to be supported by viral marketing campaigns.
The euro marketing departments of Korg, Yamaha and Steinberg seemingly stopped all their viral activities here and that is a good thing ( and they also read their emails..  oh my.. ) but the labels won´t stop. And that stinks!

FWIW, labels are in a very competitive environment- especially against the internet. Korg don't really need any introduction, as they will sell products regardless.
It's more the dishonesty of the actions of these people, and also how false it all is that creeps me the most.

BTW, we had some nasty attempts at viral marketing done by the companies mentioned above way way back. I simply deleted the lot and sent some emails to their bosses. The message was basically STOP, or feel the heat. And they stopped.
