The Deathlehem Founder's Clock

I haven't posted anything on this module that I've been developing over the last week yet, but thought I would drop this idea in here for a slight bit of humour for the moment, any ways. I'll type a small description of the module, after this:

Y'all know how we build R-2R DACs for various things in the Lunetta world, aye?

Back in the mid 2000's, when I was building a MIDI to CV converter, I found that our local electronics parts supplier had a bunch of DAC0801's for cheap. I needed 1, but I bought them all.

For this module, where I thought an R-2R DAC could be very useful I thought - why not add a DAC0801? Accurate as hell! We don't NEED any accuracy but hey ... I haven't used any more of these chips for 10+ years, I may as well.

10 days or so ago, I thought it would be cool to have some clock sources that can have a 'slight variance' every now and then. Something less 'strict and exact' as so many clock sources are. Something more 'human' / analog. Multiple clocks relating to each other and not.

That evolved into this module as it stands so far, on perf board:

6 x 40106 clocks (pot, speed adjustable)
2 x 4046 VCOs (CVable and pot, speed adj.)

3 x 40106's and 1 x 4046 are set up as a 'unit'. There are individual clock outputs for each, as well as a mixer summing the outputs together.

This is set up, twice.

There are also 2 buffered Slews, to soften the voltage changes, to varying amounts, depending on the value of the Slew pot for each of them.

4 x XOR gates. (I could increase it to 8.)

All of this is (will be later this afternoon after I finish wiring) fully patchable amoungst themselves.

This will allow each of the 4046 clocks, to have anywhere from JUST the SLIGHTEST CV to come in and affect their output frequency, to full on level shifting modulation, to create chaos and beyond.

To give further control over everything and having a spare panel, I've begun setting everything up in a standard Serge modular synth panel - 19" x 7".
This gives me a huge amount of 'real estate' to mount modules in.

So far on the addition list as possibilities are:

(And against the Lunetta norm - for this module overall, I AM capacitor buffering all power supply runs / chips.)

- 4 or 8 XOR gates (everything 100k buffered.)
- DAC0801 8 input Digital to Analog converter
- 4 or 8 NAND gates
- dual 4 BIT Shift Register
- (CD4053) triple SPDT switch
- Roland era analog drum machine's tranny based Decay EGs
- Vactrol VCAs
- possibly another mixer or two

I'm open to ideas / input.

For now - here is a pic of the panel, as the art had been done. The columns in the pic are:

- Clock Speed #'s 1 to 4
- LED for each clock
- Clock Speed #'s 5 to 8
- LED for each clock
- CV 4046 #1 input #1 amount
- CV 4046 #1's 1st input

Forgot to mention as well - with the unit as it is above - it would be easily possible to patch it, exactly the same as the original version of my Liquid HiHat.
