You can see it in action in the following video: https://youtu.be/tjxw84iRoFg
also still on twitch which probably has better quality https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1501105860

This was a test between the capture method I have been using (cheap composite to HDMI upscaler/converter
+ generic HDMI capture device) on the left and a more expensive Elgato Video Capture device on the right.

All the music I played was created by Muied Lumens and can be found here

recent video feedback experiments, using video mixers, color corrector and a camera + CRT.
I got the camera setup a little bit better but I think it just doesn't really have a suitable lens.
It does give a nice spherical effect though.

or the cropped and resized 4:3 version

all music by Muied Lumens (see video description for more info).

Could you post the original (unmodified) schematic for the Sima Edit 2? I believe the enhance might come from the section on the main board? the section that looks similar to the AVE doesnt have a cap on the emitter of the pnp, so it's actually just functioning as an amplifier without high frequency boost.

this is what I got, can't promise it's 100% correct.
'Video Enhancer" connects to the pot of the other schematic.

Newb here, and happy to be here. Dunno if this will help or if of any interest at all in an old thread, but...

I'm dissecting a Sima Video Ed/it 2 and ran into a similar situation you had - but rather than the chip identifiers being ground off, the central section of the board including the cips was spray painted. After some judicious cotton swabbing with isopropyl alcohol and a little, very careful forensic scraping, the chip identifiers are visible.

The dip 16 chip is a BU4538B retriggerable/resetable monostable multivibrator. The dip 8 chip, of which pin 8 is connected directly to pin 3 of the BU4538B, is an LM393 dual differential comparator.

Reading through your schematics, planning to follow your general plan for creting the video glitch section. And thank you so much sharing your wonderful schematics!! [/quote]

Oh, that's great! Very Happy
I more or less guessed the comparator would likely be a LM393, but expected the other one to be some kind of special video chip.
The BU4538 being a multivibrator does make sense. I might update the schematic with that new info.

note: I fixed the quote formatting in your post, hope you don't mind.
